Tape Measure: wholesale price
A typical US business buyer pays a median of $1.08 per unit at small order quantities, falling to $0.18 at volume, on a typical 30-day lead time. These medians come from published supplier pricing. Treat them as a starting point for a sourcing conversation rather than a binding quote.

What moves the price
For tape measure, the drivers are foam thickness, cover material, water resistance, attachment method, noise reduction, string material, pulley vs rope style, handle design — the same item can land at either end of the band depending on how those are specified.
For mid-range custom-printed tape measures, price is mainly driven by the tape body style and mechanism (basic plastic shell versus locking/metal features), print method, and whether the supplier is a domestic promo distributor or an import/China factory route. US promo suppliers publish much higher landed unit prices at low and mid volumes, while factory/direct listings on Alibaba and Made-in-China show sub-$1 pricing once quantities reach the low thousands and below $0.30 at very high volumes. The most realistic routes are domestic promotional distributors for 500-5,000 units and direct import/OEM sourcing for 10,000+ units.
