Price Tag: wholesale price
A typical US business buyer pays a median of $0.18 per unit at small order quantities, falling to $0.04 at volume. These medians come from published supplier pricing. Treat them as a starting point for a sourcing conversation rather than a binding quote.
Median price by order quantity
| Order size | Median /unit |
|---|---|
| 500–999 units | $0.18 |
| 1,000–4,999 units | $0.08 |
| 5,000–9,999 units | $0.06 |
| 100,000+ units | $0.04 |
What moves the price
For price tag, the drivers are binder size fit, paper weight, print finish, single-sided vs double-sided, color, sheet layout, perforation type, label size — the same item can land at either end of the band depending on how those are specified.
Quoted wholesale and bulk tag pricing is driven most strongly by quantity, then by stock weight, print coverage, and finishing such as matte/gloss, lamination, perforation, or die-cutting. The most realistic supplier routes are wholesale hang-tag/price-tag printers and custom packaging/label vendors; some published guidance is for hang tags rather than strictly shelf price tags, so the higher tiers are partly extrapolated from closely related custom tag products.
